The Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Act is California's fair debt collection pratice statute. It is comparable to the federal Fair Debt Collection Act that was adopted in 1977. Creditors and debt collection agencies are allowed to collect payment of debts in a reasonable manner under the Act.
